Gallet fire helmets

Gallet fire helmets

Application

A firefighters world is filled with dangers, and it requires safety equipment and technical equipment of the highest quality. At ICM we have collected the firefighters specialized equipment in this section, Fire Protection, while we refer to other section for equipment such as fall protection, rescue and first aid.

ICM's complete range consists of:

• Fire fighting helmets
• Climbing Helmets
• Lamps
• Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
• Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC)
• Rescue tools and extrication equipment
• Personal equipment

Note that all equipment in this section is specially selected by our product specialists, who themselves are or have been firefighters. Note that we have tested the products ourselves before we recommend them!

Fire Helmets

Approved according to EN 443. They meet the highest requirements and must provide the firefighter protection under the most extreme conditions. They usually have built-in eye protection, and they are very comfortable since the firefighter has to have his helmet on long periods of time.

Climbing Helmets

Falls under climbing equipment and are approved according to EN 12492. The standard is significantly different from EN 397, i.e. a reduced requirement for shock absorption, the helmet must be ventilated and there must be a strong 3-point chinstrap, which ensures the helmet can not move front- or backwards.

Lamps

The work environment for firefighters is typically dark and smoky. Therefore, visibility is often poor, requiring optimal lighting for each person so yo u can move safely. LED technology has made it possible to create small lamps with low weight and high brightness. Lamps may be carried in hand or on your helmet, so the light follows the head movement. The lamp must be ATEX approved for any use in explosive environments.

SCBA

Approved according to EN 137. Available in simple versions for use during training and education, and in more durable ve rsions for firefighter service. Compressed air is carried in a bottle on the back and through a reduction valve the air is transported under reduced pressure to the lung demand valve and full face mask. The harness shall be of flame retardant material, so it is not damaged too quickly. There are a number of accessories that make the SCBA safer to use and more comfortable. Ongoing maintenance is a necessity, and there can be large differences in cost of ownership over a longer period. Today, there are telemetric equipment that help to an electronic surveillance of the firefighter in action in order for the person in charge to better coordinate the firefighters in service and thereby improve the safety in case of accidents.

Thermal Imaging Cameras (TIC)

TIC’s enables us to see in smoky rooms or during poor visibility. The camera can display temperature variations from 0 to 560 º, and thereby the dark surroundings become visible on the screen, so you can navigate quickly and safely, or can identify persons and heat sources.
A TIC is an expensive product and it is aimed at those situations where life is in danger or fires must be fought, and where the value of the function of the camera quickly exceed purchase price.

A TIC is used in particular for:
• Search and rescue of people in smoky areas
• Tracing people in the dark like i.e. on highways
• Fast, safe navigation of smoky and dark places
• Identification of incandescent fire, a necessary tool for after fire checking
• Scanning for hotspots outside on buildings and doors

Rescue tools and extrication equipment

A whole new work are for ICM. ResQtec is among the world's leading manufacturers of hydraulic rescue tools (to EN 13204) and compressed air controlled lifting equipment (to EN 13731). The products are ergonomically designed to be easy and quick to handle during use. The cutting tool can be combined with the equipment that you may have in advance, so the investment is reduced. Arrange a demonstration with our specialists or participate in our open events, where we test the products in practice.

Personal equipment

To create a complete solution for fire brigades, we also offer clothing, boots and gloves.
